Spring Tree

About this activity

Use the tree outline to create a beautiful blossom tree.

Children can use their fingertips to dab paint onto the branches to make blossom petals. Finger painting helps children develop their fine motor skills, hand–eye coordination and creativity.

Before starting the activity, you could go outside and look at the trees together. Talk about what you can see, such as the branches, buds or blossoms. Going outside helps children explore nature and develop their observation and language skills.

Why not see what other objects you can use to make the petals? Children could try using cotton buds, sponges or other small objects to print the blossom onto the tree.

This activity encourages creativity, sensory play and an interest in the natural world.
