These penguin numbers can be used in a variety of fun and engaging ways. Below are four simple activities to help children recognize numbers and develop their math skills:
- Number OrderingCut out the numbers and ask the child to place them in the correct numerical order.
- Matching Pairs GameCut out two copies of the numbers, then cut each number out individually. Turn all the cards face down and play a matching pairs game. Players take turns flipping over two cards at a time. If the numbers match, the player keeps the pair; if not, the cards are turned back over. The player with the most matching pairs wins.
- Number to Quantity MatchingCut out one set of penguin numbers and one set of fish. Ask the child to match each penguin number to the correct number of fish.
- Quantity Matching Memory GameCut out one copy of the numbers and one copy of the fish. Turn all pieces face down and play a memory-style matching game, matching each penguin number with the correct quantity of fish when the cards are turned over.
